    After reading this post makes me wonder how me and dad caught crappie using those big horse head jigs..lol . This was way before crappie fishing got so popular.

    1/8 most of the time when crappie are 16 feet or less 1/4 if deeper in water Rarely use anything lighter

    Ha! I learned how to crappie fish with baitcasting reels with medium heavy rods and 17 lb test line. We fished for food not fun back then.

    Fished 30 yrs . with only two sizes 1/16 and 1/8 . Now I never leave home without 1/32 and 1/80. Welcome to drinking clear water fishing .
