Yes they are, but I would have thought an 18.5" crappie would be a little heavier? I know we have caught a lot of 17" fish here over the years and my biggest is 18.25", didn't weigh that one or very many actually. However I did weigh one 17" that my wife caught and that fish was 2.91#. All of these were from 4 years ago or longer. Hva not been able to break 16.5" the last few years, but the floods didn't help the last 2 years.

Hog crappie for sure. My personal best was 17 1/2" and 3.25 lbs from my neighbors pond. This gal is giddy with her catch for sure. Appreciate your posting this one Ketchin'.

I fish, therefore I am!
That sure looks like a good one and looks like 3# to me, but maybe it's sides have not filled up yet? I know that fish if thick like it should be would be probably close to 4#. I have had 16 1/2" fish weigh 2 1/2 pounds.

Would it be too much to ask, what did this great catch bite on?
I live in the area and only recently got into fishing, so apologies if it's inappropriate to ask, especially being as this is my first post on the forum.
Now that's a crappie
And with that, I'll see you on the water...
