Uhhh yeah, I'd have to hear some more in depth explanation on that, too !! I'm using the 1/4lb bulk spool of 6# Vicious hi-vis (that's several years old) and don't have any complaints about it.

I really think that Ande saltwater mono is the best quality mono that I've ever used. Seems to never get weak or "chalk" after a couple years. However, I've never seen it in hi-vis or anything smaller than 12lbs. If they did, I would load up! I'm a stren user. Always have been.

As I mentioned in a earlier post the new spools of Vicious are marked "made in India" and are different diameter. Haven't tried them yet as I still have some older to work thru. Anyone do a comparison of new vs old?

Floyd I got two 1/4 lb spools (1700 yds) of Vicious HI VIS 8 lb and have fished with it all winter on my spider rigs and jigging poles. Having no problem straightening out 1/0 and 2/0 wire hooks. If the drag slips while reeling, any brand is going to get twist but this is by far the best I have found for the money. Very low memory. If it get's some twist I just take the hook off put the line in the water and let it all unspool while moving slow down the lake. Reel it back up and all the twist is gone.

I have a large spool of 6lb Stren gold that is 30 years old and it still works great. I got it from my late dad and he keep it in a black plastic bag all these years. I was shocked that it was still good after all these years.

Bass Pro Crappie Max 6# - hated it. 2X the memory problems of Mr. Crappie
Stren Gold 4# - It was so bad I questioned if I got a bad batch. I would land a 12" crappie and on three occasions during the same weekend, the line snapped on the very next big fish. First time ever seeing line snap at my reel. So bad I replaced it with clear Trilene.
Mr. CRAPPIE 6# - Decent line but has memory problems.
Suffix 4# - Trying it out now. So far so good.
