For here, blacks in brush, bc their diet here is more crawfish n small bugs.... have seen em even loaded with water fleas sometimes.
"Open" water here is bigger minners. Bigger fish so to speak and see whites like the larger meal.
Anything more than 6 dorsal spines is black and what I catch on the Pearl most often.
I like the white days.
Golden sacs are the best days.

That's the biggest one I've caught this year (about 3/4 lb max) but we've caught them over a pound in Toledo bend. Of the 3 I've caught this year I've throw two 7-9" back. I like the racing crappie name lol. I call 'em mohawks and my buddy calls 'em calicos

They ALL taste good...especially FRESH crappie.....blacks...whites ...racers.....who cares...we eat all of em
