I am glad to see this thread. I have broken the housing on my terrova a couple times already loading and unloading the boat on the trailer. Some ramps just aren't friendly to something sticking off the front a few inches.

So i purchased some 2" angle iron and made two slide brackets that would allow trolling motor to hang over side of boat, and still slide in enough to be inside the rub rail radius. then i welded on some 1/8" plate strips to line up with old mounting holes so i didn't have to drill any new holes in my fiberglass boat. I also made a pull pin that locks it in the stowed and deployed position. sometimes you have to make custom stuff to suit your specific needs, just takes a little time. If you want pics if you think ya might like to try that route just let me know?
Admire a mechanic. I however, need instruction, and a supervisor to work a screwdriver
