Getting hard for me to climb in and out of the boat while dry docked. Hey I am pushing 80. Be good to have a young body. I will manage, slowly. Thanks for the concern.

I have a 84 year old friend that I carry with me most of the time when I go. He has trouble getting in and out of the boat so I carry a 2 step stool so he can manage. He has a nice boat but he is not able to go by himself anymore.

Congrats CP. Praying I can still get in/out of the boat at 80.
Although having bad knees, bone on bone, I know pain from walking, let alone going up or down steps. One thing that I looked for was a ramp or short long steps. Average step riser is 7"-8" My front door steps are 4" and much easier to maneuver then regular steps. So much so its worth the extra 30' of walking to get in the house. Ramps were the best, no up or down. This year I had both knees replaced, and steps aren't the issue they used to be.

Toon is the way to go. Can you put in a gang plank from the dock to the toon deck?

I had a boarding ramp added to our dock. There is about a 1 foot step from the dock to the boat. Money well spent.

    I don't feel old until I move.

I took good care of myself over the years. Never turned down a beer or a joint till I turned 55.
