It has a major creek coming in and going out and several other smaller ones, and plenty of Springs. North End is 5 foot or less, with a few deeper holes. Middle lake is 10-20ft, and the Southern third is deeper with 45 foot holes
The Level of CJ never drops during droughts, like other lakes, due to the Springs. They take it down 3 feet (1900 acres) only for Winter Pool.
CJ is well known for Walleye, SMALL perch (Walleyes take the Big ones), White Crappie, Smallmouth, Largemouth, and White Bass, Most Sunfish Species, and Channel Cats and a few Shovelheads! SHAD is the main forage, with huge populations, but the Natural Baitfish population has been expanded.

Went out this morning and got on the water around 9:30am and off 2:15 or so. Water temp 57-58 with 60 in the north end road bed area close to shore. Caught dinks with a lot of short strikes on live bate as well as Kietech being used. Short strikes must have ALL been at least 8lbs even the crappie and I'm sticking to it !!!!
How did you end up doing Doc ?

Fished a couple hours in a few different spots. Landed a couple dinks and followed them up with a nice, fat surprise 22" walleye on a crappie tube. I decided I couldn't top that and left early
