What is meant by 'skin mount'?
Sweet stuff guys. I hope to get a wall hanger or 2 this year. If my river tactics pay off I should have a whole school lol keep them coming. Always enjoy seeing others mounts

^^^^ great job on that one
That's using the actual fish to make the mount. They remove the "internals" and just use the "skin" of the fish. "Replica" mounts have no actual "fish" parts on them, as they're just "dummy" replications of a fish of that general size, painted to match from a picture of the actual fish.

I saw one done years ago that none have ever compared to. It was a taxidermists personal mount that won 1st at a show 2 years running. It had lily pads, pecky cypress with a turtle near a hole in the wood, a shiner on a hook with the line around the stem of a couple of the lily's, a red breasted shellcracker and a big copperhead bluegill. The focus was an 11+lb Largemouth. The mount stood over 2 feet off the wall and was over 3 feet wide. Would look very good on a wall in an office as you speak of but would be out of place in a small house like mine. The diversity showing the different species and reality of the shiner and line and float were something i don't think I have ever seen elsewhere. Sorry that I don't have a pic and I'm sure he is retired but his first name was Charlie and he was in Clearwater, FL. If you googled that much you might get to see a pic of the mount, very unique.

Thanks...Sounds Awesome. That's what I am wanting to do. As of now I have 5# lb LM I caught on an ultralight and 3 replica crappie schooled up.
This is ONLY the rough idea...I am getting ready to Paint the office [not sure color] and Stencil in the words.
I think the Fishing line idea is very cool.
Thanks again JD
