Default Skipper's Jigs #2 - Remembering the good times, Happy Thoughts Contest - Ends 2-14

My wife and I were going through our old albums here at the house. We're actually digitizing them all so they do not take up so much room. And I ran across a couple pictures. I texted them to my daughter, who showed them to my mom, and I'm sorry to say, she started crying.

That was not my intention. That is not what I wanted at all. I wanted it to put a smile on her face, I wanted it to bring back happy thoughts. I really do believe that our loved ones that pass on, live on with the Lord, BUT they also live on in our minds. So, when looking through those older pictures of loved ones that have passed, please, please, please, remember all the good times, have happy thoughts, not bad ones, of all the wonderful time you did spend with them. Here are a couple of those pics I thought I'd share.

Uncle Otto and Aunt Gusti - I really learned to to love to fish from these two. This is on KY Lake where they retired, but I was raised escaping the city of Chicago by going to their apple orchard in Fennville Michigan all the summers of my youth. I loved it there.

My moms mom. Oma. Lived in a small town in Germany (a mile from the East/West border when "The Wall" was still up) at the foothills of the Hartz Mountains. Used an outhouse during our visits till I was about thirteen years old.

So, this is a best picture contest. Please post pictures of loved ones past, and remember the special times together. Think happy thoughts, please.

The contest will be for 12 packs of Skipper's Jigs. And a Skipper's Jigs Decal.

The contest ends on the date in the title.

My Mom was 84 when she was escorted from earth's gravity.
She taught me to hunt, fish and enjoy all outdoors. She was super competitive, loved to play softball and was a huge football fan.
She raised large 1 acre gardens and I pulled the plow and we canned veggies by the hundreds of quarts. Everything I ever learned, she
was my teacher mentor. She is missed and remembered and referenced daily.
All who knew her know where she is today.
This photo was taken February 2004, on Valentine's Day.
She was lifted up April 15, 2008.
    Love ya Mom.

My Grandmother was special to me. She would always have home made ice cream waiting for us when we returned from the local creeks fishing in Dayton. We would be knee deep in that water trying to catch crappie, bass, crawdads or whatever we could get our little hands on with rods and nets.
That home made ice cream was the icing on the cake to us for a great afternoon. We not only got to visit with her and hear stories but that ice cream...I can still taste it today when I think about her!!!! I have to admit that I almost always buy me some ice cream for the trip home from an outing nowadays. Not the same taste but I can think about her and dream!!....Love you Grandma!!
