11' Ozark rear reel seat best jigging rod for the money hands down, I've used a lot of different brands. If you're fishing deeper than 10-12' Get something short so you can get right on top of them and use the electronics better. I have found ESP rods to be insane sensitive. I use the ESP ULS56

When the money is on the line and faced with a vertical jigging situation, Me and my partner both use a 10 foot rear seat Ozark for vertical jigging and have done very well with it on the Tournament trail here in Arkansas. For most All other applications we use BnM. Here is a nice cat I just caught on one out of the middle of a brush pile on 8lb Mr Crappie, which some say is too whippy of a rod. I beg to differ.

10 ft Bonehead. For dipping brush. Fast tip and serious backbone to bring the big ones up quick before they have a chance to tangle you up. I use 20 lb braid and feel everything the jigs hit or hits the jig. First time I used one, I was setting the hook before I realized I was bit. Reaction on setting the hook. Best rod I have used for dipping. Get what you want but the 10 ft. Bonehead is the best rod to beat right now. My opinion.

From this thread, it seems logical that you really need one each of all makes and lengths to try out.

OR, it's really not about the pole at all.

Cmj- understood. Your using it to teach others to fish aggressive fish. That works.
I'm with CMJ , I want a stiff jig pole with lots of backbone . I use heavier jigs than most on 8 lb line to detect lightest bite . Crappie don't nibble a jig , they inhale it . I feel anything besides jig or brush or stop feeling jig that fish usually gets swung in before it knows what's going on . I only jig fish and only use a 11' Ozark because it is stiff enough to swing in a 2 lb Crappie . I used to use B-n-M Bucks jig poles in 12' but got tired of buying front rod sections .
