If I lived some what closer.
I live in Cedar Rapids and fish Coralville Reservoir quite a bit. I have a fairly decent boat and know quite a few good spots on the lake... have yet to get completely skunked. I have Humminbird graphs with SI and DI imaging up front and at the console that are networked together with my MinnKota Terrova iPilot Link trolling motor... and even have the Lakemaster maps for Iowa. No matter where you sit in the boat you have a view of the graph.
With the fall bite about to fire up, all I want to do on my days off is fish! I have a fluctuating work schedule in which most of my days off are during the week when everyone I know is busy... which is a good thing usually because that's the best time to be out on the lake! In the past week I've put several messes of crappie on the table already and have boated not one but TWO walleyes that measured 25", which is pretty rare for that lake (caught another one yesterday, along with another small mess of crappies).
The only problem is that it's a pain in the neck to launch and load the boat solo! If there's anyone in the area that gets days off during the week and would like to go sometime just hit me up with a PM and we can swap contact info and see if our schedules work out. I'll even buy the gas and the minnows... just meet me at the ramp!
Seriously, I'm completely addicted to crappie fishing lol.
Let's rip some lips!

CATCH FILLET
Lol yeah I hear that.
I'm gonna leave this as an open invitation to anyone who wants to hook up. I'll be hitting the reservoir every chance I get at least until it ices up... probably at least a couple times a week.
Been getting a few in the 12-13" range lately. The water temps as of Wednesday, 9/30 was still 69-70 but with this cooler weather I expect the bite to kick into full swing for the next few weeks!
Let's go fishin!
Go to a retirement home. That is where I sneak from during the week.If you put bunk slicks on the trailer that REALLY makes loading and launching much easier.

Hey, I think we will need to get out some time. I haven't went after the crappie's for a good while now maybe last time was ice fishing (other hobbie beside work getting in the way lol ). I work Mon.-Fri. but for the most part only till around 7am on Friday's. If you were looking for a way to launch a boat by yourself and keep your feet dry all you had to do was ask, I could have helped you out there. Just last week I told/showed a guy new to boat owning how to do it at the res. .
Later,

Anytime bud, just let me know. Better do it before it gets too cold. Yesterday it was pretty slow but I managed to get 7 keepers. I might go out Friday. Going out tomorrow (Thurs) morning for sure. I get off at 6am and heading straight to the res after I swing through Ely for minnows. I've probably seen you out there, what ramp did you give the loading/launching lesson? I generally use the one at Macbride State Park.
