Just started fishing Texoma again after leaving in 2006 for Lake Fork. I fish out of Newberry Creek which is close to my old place in Little Glasses. Am anxious to relearn the North end of the lake as I used to catch some good slabs in that area.

I'm new to the Crappie Fishing as I haven't done it since I was young. I'm also out of the Newberry Creek Area. I have a slip there as well. Trying to learn all I can. Junior
I will be happy to share some of what I have learned on Texoma. Let me know when you will be at Newberry.
Ok, Thanks, I'll share what little I know, I've mainly fished Hickory Creek, and Newberry twice. I'm working in Alva, Oklahoma right now should be home in one to two weeks.
Ddubya and crappiebat7 its sonny boy here Jr we meet last summer in newberrycreek it wwon't be long and they will be on the bank me and okie Bob will be there when it happens let's will give y'all a shout when its on. We will probably start towards the middle of the week.
Snuck into Okie bobs back yard on Saturday and while my son, Crappiefool41 and my California friends were chasing Stripers I kept my eye on the prize and pulled these two slabs off the bottom in 70 fow , and that is no misprint- 70'! The spawn may be a little further out than normal- water temps ran from 41-43 degrees on a very sunny day.
Nice, I knew that the big crappie traveled with the stripers as I have caught them before. I have never caught them at 70 FOW. I was out on Saturday and located some in 50 FOW but only managed stripers on my crappie tackle. Fun but I would rather have Crappie. Catching Crappie in winter and summer can be a chalange on Texoma but that is the fun of the hunt. Practice, practice, practice.
I was closer to Newberry than you were.
Dang man, I take care of some other bidness and somebody opens the gates to my lake! Don't you guys know you have to get permission from the old man of the lake prior to chasin his crappie??? I just don't get no respect anymore......
Well, you guys are in the right spots, Newbery Creek and Little Glasses are my two favorites and if you see my Lund (the Crappie Whisperer) give me a shout. Maybe get together for breakfast some morning? Or maybe just coffee? Whatever.
I'm half way between Madill and Ardmore, off Hwy 70, just south of Dickson.
Later this week, I'm thinking it's gonna be on!!!
Sooner born, Sooner bred and when I die, I'll be Sooner Dead!
