x2 on what Speck said. I'm lovin my 14' Southerns. You can swing a fish in with them as opposed to having to net EVERY fish on a BGJP.

Thanks Chris. They are priced right for sure. I have been using Pro Angler rods for all my methods of fishing the last 3 years and have had very good luck with them. Their trolling rods fish about the same way you described the southern crappie rods. Great backbone and fairly soft tip. Great for 3/8 to 3/4 oz of weight. But I am looking at buying another set of rods just used for pushing a single 1/16 or 1/8 oz jig with no other weight when fishing real shallow. I may go back to the BGJP's unless I can find a rod with a even softer tip.

Thanks Speck. May look into those. Got a trip to Sippi first of April. Be nice to break them in on some of those slabs.

Hey nitemare, you better get 20' rods and get your bait as far away from your mug as you can so as not to scare them fishies ol buddy.

I figure I can show them my good side with the shorter rods, when I figure out which side is my good side
