I like ml for jigging. Nice to have a little more backbone when a bass decide to hit the jig.
I use 4'6" micro-lites for spider rigging, with a 1 oz. weight. Have seen a lot of 14 to 17" fish come over the side of the boat. Never had a problem. Fought a 30#+ flathead to the surface but had to cut the line because I didn't have away to get it in the boat.

I've used the ML and the L. Prefer ML for all around casting and dock shooting.
Went by Gander Mountain and Bass Pro Shops today. GM had no L action guide series in stock only ML and UL which were too stiff or too light. While poking around BPS found a 7 ML of their crappie max pro series that felt pretty good and was more sensitive than the microlite.
