Interesting, havn't gave it much thought. Wnen walleye fishing the river, the tail alway get hooked on the hook when tail up. I will have to try it tail down. I will almost double the amount of cast by not stopping to fix the tail all the time.

I've always heard head down and tail up. Oh wait that was at work. Don't think it really matters when fishing.

I don't always use curly tails
but when I do they are turned down
