nope, 225 degrees and the BGE will hold it dead on 225 all night long if I need it to. With the domed top, it circulates the hot air and stays at the same temp. I've gone to bed at 10 at night with it on 225 and got up at 5. It was still at 225. Takes a little time to learn how to get it to work right though. Guess it's why you see so many competition cooks using a BGE these days

I put rollers on it so I could move it around and made wide enough to sit things on. Have it on enclosed back porch so this way I can get it out of the way. I just pull it out next to the screen when using to vent smoke. Not pretty but functional. Plus it gets it high enough to work with and not have to bend over. You probably got something around the shop you could use.

I have not read all the post yet about your method of smoking ribs but I do have a question, do you let the ribs come to room temp before you smoke them and do you let the rub set on the ribs for a period of time before smoking also? I quess that was 2 question. I'm just a dumb yankee.

I just put the rub on them and let them sit out while I am waiting on the smoker to heat up to 225......then I put the ribs in the smoker
