Default Not Crappie but still a Boost for the Ecosystem

Went to dam #2 on the arkansas river this morning. Looking for stripers, but kept snagging these dang asain carp, they were stack in like cordwood and would hook up with every cast with a crankbait. It was fowl hooking them. Each fish took at least 15 minutes to land due to medium action gear and the current, plus their size! Got broke off alot! But still fun!

I am guessing they are an invasive species and y'all are supposed to discard them and not release back into the lake, correct?? We got White Perch in our lakes that are also invasive but at least they are good to eat.

Snag them all! Things are ever where now. White is full of them. I used to catch a lot of bass down that part of the old river, wonder if they are still there?

Definitely invasive species! Ribs are very similar to buffalo, just not quite as meaty. As far as taste, there isnt a difference. But thier filets makes excellent cut bait for catfish! Had a guy tell me today as i gave him one that he had caught his personal best catfish on cut asian carp.

Those appear to be Bighead Carp , one of several Asian invasive species. The Silver Carp are the ones that jump in the boat from what I've heard . Snag all you can!
