Brush that was put in by a friend of mine. I check it every time I go out. have not been able to get anything off of it. Put you can see the fish around it. I'm starting to think they are Gills and not Crappie

To everyone thanks for the pictures. I hope the pictures will keep coming in and it helps to talk about them. Side Image has been hard for me to learn and understand what I'm looking at.

Do you have a mental grasp of how the SI image lays under your boat....??

Or is identifying things in the image the quandary...??

It is a cable. The DNR put out fish attractors and that shot is where I was ridding by the cable is from the marker buoy that they have to ID the structure from above the water.

Great guess vic n. You guys are good. Wish i could ID things like that. My wife says that I need to pay someone to show me how to use the thing. LOL she's still mad about the $1,500 bucks. I have not told her about the new Minn Kota Terrova with foot pedal and I-pilot yet. HA HA

Rnvinc: I have problems understanding what I see in the picture. Have watched all the Tips N Tricks on YouTube. I have the HB598 SI and a new HB688 DI to put on trolling motor. Bigger screens may be better but this was the best I could afford hope these units will help. On the SI and DI are faint images & 2D always shows strong. Maybe just these 81 year old eyes.

Smaller screens definately are more difficult due to the size that structure is shown in the SI image...

A few things that can help...

*Anytime something looks interesting in the display...stop the screen scroll by pressing the 4way cursor...then move the cursor over that interesting item...and start pressing the + button on the unit face to open a "Zoom box" and zoom in on the item...

*Then press "Exit" until the zoom box goes away....

*While the scroll is still frozen...press "Menu" one time to open the Xpress menu...and change the "Si Side" selection to "Left" or "Right" side only...(this will, in effect, zoom that entire side of the SI image)...

*While the scroll is still frozen...change the pallette colors in the Xpress menu...(sometimes different colors show better detail than others)...

*While the screen is still frozen...Open the "SI Enhance" menu from the Xpress menu...and play with the Sensitivity and Contrast settings...

Minnow, sorry for side tracking your post on this other stuff.

How do you modify these side image shots?
