I have a picture of one that was 4 lbs somewhere. Caught it out of my best friend's folks pond. That pond didn't have very many fish in it, and I didn't expect much when we caught that beast. Caught it on a yellow crappie jig right by a fence post that was in the water. I was probably 12 or 13. We weighed it, took a picture, then his mom made us let it go.

wow! what a stringer of hogs!

there is a pond that produces fish over 20" around here. havent been able to fish it since the 80s. not too many years ago i was shown a picture of a 21"er. i tried to snap a picture of the picture, with my phone, but its worse quality than the photo from "57". lol here it is anyhow with his kid holding it.

around here 16s are common, with the occasional 18-20"ers showing up, in some public lakes. private ponds are another story and frankly another category imo.

my 12 year old son said he hooked one 3.679 pounds but it got I away. I said son, if it got away how do you know it weighed 3.679 pounds? He said, dad, it had scales on it's back...I took that one hook line and sinker, lol

But they already knew to stretch their arms to put the fish closer to the camera to change perspective.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
