New guy here, My name is Adam Webb, Grew up fishing the swamps of Louisiana. Got disgusted with how far every decent fishing spot is from Olive Branch and gave up, sold my boat. That was about 8 years ago. Now I have a 14 year old boy and am getting back into it for him. Just ordered a G3 from sunrise in Searcy. Looking forward to learning how to fish these open lakes. It is a very strange concept to me. Back home 8 feet was deep and 30 cypress trees an acre was considered open water. I deal with a lot of crappie fisherman regularly in my business. Guess I will try to become one.
Welcome WebbsWelding! Don't have quite as many alligators here but crappie , yes.
Thanks for all the info, great bunch of people on here..
Let the good times JIG
I'm new here...Grew up fishing Desoto Lake with my grandfather (all i remember mostly is two jig poles and a cooler full o fish) Fished Moon Lake, Sardis, Enid, and Arkabutla a bit growing up. Joined the army and my fishing kind of went to the way side until I got stationed in Ft Polk, LA and the locals kept speaking about the white perch. So I took my butt to Toledo Bend and wore them crappie out! Moved back to Mississippi 2 years ago and just now really getting a chance to enjoy my favorite pastime that is crappie fishing. On here to learn as much as possible from you old farts, have a nice day!
Welcome JAJiggin. We probably know each other if you grew up fishing around the Clarksdale area.

Have been a green carp guy since I could pick up a pole but I got bored with it and my new obsession are slabs and I am absolutely hooked!! I mainly fish Columbus and Aberdeen lakes and a lot down around the camp pratt area but may venture up to the tenn river on the waters I grew up on, I had good success this year getting in the swing of things but am looking to improve this year. I am starting to make my own jigs and am looking for any advice from some of you seasoned vets that may fish the same areas as me or can give any advice at all to a young eager chaser of crappie. thanks
