I posted this on Arkansas board but decided to share with everyone.:D

I have met one yesterday that recognized me that does not post and another today that does. Both were from Russellville , just can't remember names . Proud to see the one today help 2 old guys ( in their 80's) load up their boat. They said they had been buddies since the 1940's. One guy was on a walker and was a Korean Vet like my dad was. I asked them if they had any luck. They said maybe had enough for their supper. Well I kept 10 Crappie and a Bass this afternoon. On my way out I stopped at their camp and gave them my catch. The older gentleman that could get around took them and shook my hand with a big smile. Sure feels good to see old friends fishing together and hope the other Crappie .commer and I made their day a little better.

Nice, very nice! There are two older (around 85 yrs) guys that fish out of little V bottoms, w small motors and launch at the same ramp I usually do. One is normally by himself and refuses any help. The other usually has a younger guy with him, (about 75) with him. Both boats have their favorite spots and anytime any of the regulars are on "their spots", most will wave them on in and give the spot up to them. It's the least we can do since the old codgers probably began stock piling the brush years ago. I went out with an older friend about 6 weeks ago and one of them had motor trouble out near the main lake with an unfriendly wind. They barely made a rocky point and missed being blown out into the 2.5 footers by about 35'. We were more than happy to tow them back to the ramp. They offered money, which was turned down, yet refused to let us help them load. I haven't seen them since, must have been something major with their motor.

Things like this are always good to hear. Good job Nimrod. Those of us that have a boat and go somewhat regularly usually have fish in the freezer already. When you get to the ramp and someone else hasn't had the luck, or maybe even the opportunity to go it's a small thing for us to give them some of what we have. 3 yrs ago I was loading my boat and a gent and his wife, both pushing 80, stopped to see how I had done. I had a limit of nice ones and showed him my catch. He said that he and his wife used to fish a lot, but due to their age and health that it wasn't possible. This man may have been 80, but the shine in his eyes when he talked of Days past was bright enough that Stevie Wonder could've seen it. He really missed his days on the water. I had no bucket and asked if he did. He asked "what do I need that for?" When I said that I couldn't just let the fish I was about to give him flop around in the floorboard, He said he'd see what he had. A minute later he came back with a lawn size trash bag. I started scooping fish and at about 6 or 7 he said that was enough for dinner and he wouldn't take all my fish. Try as I might he'd take no more. Money was offered and refused. The smile and shine in his eye's is something that I'll never forget. Part of the job. Cost's us nothing and pays back so much. If Y'all are reading this, remember to look around at the ramp and see who just might be standing there, nice and quiet. It might be the best thing you do this year, and really make someone's day.

Written above is what it should be all about....if they look like they could use some help at the ramp or on the water offer it to them, whether they're older or younger. That is what my Father, if he were alive would expect of me and how I was raised. Good job fellows.

Greast Post Guys! I can tell you that you never know how much it means to folks when someone takes time for them or gives them something! I grew up dirt poor and we never could afford fishin and huntin stuff, but I had several men that give me tackle and took me out in a boat a few times even had a guy buy me a gun for my dad helping him a little! Today, the Lord has blessed me and I have a nice boat and so much huntin and fishin stuff and I always help others out when I can! A good mess of fish handed over to someone aint gonna hurt most of us and the look and smile on their face is priceless! I love to see folks happy!
