Custom Hand-Tied Jigs and Hand-Poured Jig Heads

I started this hobby a while back just wanting to tie jigs for my own use. I got tired of the low quality jig heads available to me at the various retail outlets. I was also tired of having to bust out the paint in the hook eyes. I then ordered some bare lead jigs from a guy I had purchased from before, bought a couple of jars of powder paint, built my own fluid bed and made my jig heads. Being a person that loves to make things with my own hands, I later decided to buy a mold or two, some lead, and a pouring pot so I could make my own from start to finish.

You may have heard it before now, but this hobby really has the tendency to take over. The next thing I knew, I had a bunch of molds, hooks, paint, feathers, hair, chenille, etc.. In order to help cover part of my hobby expenses, to ease some of the wife's concerns, and possibly to fund future addiction treatment sessions, I've decided to offer them to fellow fishermen here on CDC. I don't advertise anywhere else - mostly it is word of mouth.

I have supplies to make hand-tied neck hackle and marabou feather jigs, as well as buck tail, kip tail and even squirrel tail jigs. . By now, I have over 30 different standard and custom colors of power paint on hand. I bake my jig heads for maximum durability after they have been hand-coated with powder paint. I don't paint eyes on my jigs, but I have a few options that allow the addition of 3D eyes.

I currently make the following jig heads: classic round heads (barbless, as well as a few barbed styles), wire retainer round heads, screw-loc round heads, pill-head under-spins (wire retainer, barbed, and barbless) and even jig heads for small hollow tubes. The smallest jig head I currently pour is 1/64oz round head. For most of my round head jigs, I can pour 1/32oz all the way up to 5/8oz. I use high quality sickle and extra light wire hooks. I have sickle hooks on hand as small as size #8 up to 2/0. Most hooks are platinum black, but I do have some gold and red versions as well. Extra light wire hooks are bronze Aberdeen styles, sizes 4, 2 and 1.
Where possible, I try to purchase my supplies from others here on CDC, or at least from reputable suppliers mentioned in the many forums on this site.

There are a lot of great people here on CDC that offer high quality items. Many have been making jigs for a long time, and many have given me some great advice. My goal is to be able to provide fellow fishermen with items of at least a similar quality, with a good turnaround time, at a fair price, and still be able to enjoy my passion of fishing. If you use my jigs or jig heads, I promise that you will never need to bust out baked-on powder paint from the hook eyes. They come ready to fish!

If you are interested, please send me a PM. If you have a preferred weight, hook size, and color pattern, please include that info with your message. Since it can be a little tricky to send pictures along with PMs on this forum, ask for my cell # and we can share information that way as well.

Check back from time to time as I tend to add new things as I go.

Thanks for all of your support, and Happy Fishing!
