Thread: Glow Tail Crappie Jigs / Pan fish Jigs

These are hand tied locally. And locally they are HOT! We have been selling these for over 7 years. What makes these so special you might ask. Good question. These are glow in the dark tail jigs. Hence the name Glow Tail Crappie Jigs. The heads don't glow and the wrapping doesn't glow but the tails glow BIG TIME! They are great to use during the day or at night. During the day the natural sunlight makes them glow or you could give them an extra pop with a flash light. At night hit them with a flash light for about a half a minute and they will glow for up to 2 hours depending on how strong your light is. I usually turn the head lights on my car on and hit them with that and man they seem to glow forever. Kinda make sense as light attracts fish. You don't even have to tip these with a minnow or a wax worm, but you can if you want to. These are the hottest jigs in this area, so over 10,000 fisherman can't be wrong! (We sell around 5,000 every spring and every summer.)


The photos of the glowing jigs on the black background were our very first ones we ever made over 7 years ago. The picture was taken by a professional photographer way back then. As you can see in the other photos with the white background the quality of our work has gotten a lot better. Anyways the jigs in the photos with the black background are the same material and everything. Just our first editions.

Now we usually use red sickle hooks for all our jigs. BUT we bought another jig maker out and it seems like he used what ever hooks he could find. So we are using those hooks up first before we start making them with our red sickle hooks. I can't give you a certain color of hook with your jigs as that will get too complicated. The guy had all round bend hooks and had them in bronze, gold and red. So the jigs below are all round bend hooks in any of those color hooks.


Now I know you guys in the south and out west use 1/16 and 1/8 oz. jigs for crappies. We will be making those sizes plus a few more different sizes next year. But in this part of Ohio where the deepest water on average in 15' if that, these tiny jigs are the way to go and we sell a boat load. These would be good for pan fish as well.


Now please keep in mind we are fisherman first, family men second, and jig makers third. We have had guys wanting 60 cards and 100 cards of these jigs at a time and well, it just doesn't happen as that would be too much like a business and too much like work. So we make what we make, when we have time and we sell what we have. Now if someone wants a card of this or that and we have time we will probably make it but we won't be in a rush to do so. (It's getting that time of year!)

(around here people love pink and hate blue but as you can see in the picture they all glow about the same color.)


REMEMBER the heads do NOT glow and it does NOT matter as the tails are what hypnotizes the fish.
