Thread: Wire weed guards on unpainted leadheads

When I was using Gold Hooks, I made them with wireguards.........Now that I use Litewirehooks, don't pour them anymore. I still loose a few but not very many.

Nimrod, I use grousefly's wire guard weedless jig heads and really like em. Only lost one jig fishin both days last weekend. I get mine painted, but I remember reading you're still old school, no paint. I like orange, red, and pink. It adds brighter contrast between your jig body and jig head. Why do I feel like I'm wasting my time... lol. I know, don't fix it if it ain't broke.

I go to Grousefly for all my weedless jigheads, and for most of my "specialty" jigheads.

My two favorites ... 1/16oz Ballhead w/#2 gold Aberdeen hook (or #4 bronze Aberdeen)
Top jighead has clear fiber brush guard type weedguard
Bottom jighead has Y-guard style weedguard

Guys thanks, I use unpainted because I insert them into large tube baits. I am checking for a friend that casts jigs with a slip cork. Thanks again

Does anyone on here make them in 1/32oz size with a #6 hook and a wire weed guard? Would even like them with a red hook if possible.

Roy ... check with Grousefly !! If it's lead & wire, he's probably made it ... or if not, he's gonna give it his best shot !!
