Thread: Next Bash will be at Lake Gaston on April 18

There is a public boat landing just off River road after crossing Pea Hill Creek. The name of it is Henrico. I will find the directions and post them later. It has a decent ramp and plenty of parking. This is a NC ramp, there is a VDGIF ramp in the back of Pea Hill, haven't put in there in years, I will check with my Dad as he did a few weeks ago. There is one more option that I have in mind; however, it is a private ramp and I will need to check for permission to launch there. I will get back with more info as soon as possible.

PanMan,the lake is like Kerr,Long,34 miles.Midway is a bridge crossing,Eaton Ferry Bridge,Rt.903.No other crossing except I-95 on east end and I-85 or highway no.1 on west end.Largest towns are Roanoke Rapids on east end,and
not much at west end.Motel,at Eaton Ferry and marina and restrauant,Morningstar on lake.Pay ramp.At my location a little west of Eaton Ferry we have a private boat launching ramp for property owners and guest.I can offer this area for launch site,with plenty of parking.Nearby town of Warrenton N.C.is 11 miles where restrauants are avaliable .Tackel shops and bait in this area also.If you like i can send you a map and check on anything
here.Bass thingy going on now down at eaton Ferry.

I will put together a list.Un like Kerr,not much commercial stuff,right on lake except at Eatons Ferry,also Subway,and restrauant,Andy,s just up the road in a shopping center with a food lion store.Not aware 0f bait and tackle close there.Hawtree Creek is public ramp,nice with floating dock,and plenty of parking,about 3 miles from my house.Bait is close by this ramp approx. 4 miles.Grill is there at bait place also.Several nice Restrauants in Roanoke Rapids.It all depends on what area you want to fish in.

I95 to the Gaston exit - #180
Turn right onto Pleasant Hill Rd/NC48
Turn right onto Lawrenceville Rd/NC46
Continue on NC46 going west to junction of NC46 and SR1214(River Rd).
Turn left onto SR1214 (River Rd.)
Travel 5.5 miles on SR1214.
Area is on the left.
[N 36o 31' 17'' W 77o 52' 50.9'']

Just FYI, if you stop and ask directions in gaston they say Hen-ree-co. :D
