I have these Page Title my driftmasters got moved to the back of the boat and will stay there!
Have a question for the members. I have a 17 foot Triton alum bass boat.
I love to tightline but the way have it set up, It is so hard to get the trolling motor up when moving to a new spot. I have two Driftmaster T-250's and they are a pain to get resetup after changing spots. I am running some 14 footers and some 16's. I am looking for something more compact and easier to deal with in this small boat for next year. Will be selling the driftmasters for a good price before next spring. Thanks for any advice .

I have tried just about all of them over the years and now wouldn't use anything except Hi Tek. I really like them because they are strong, compact, and don't have arms sticking up allover the place. BTW, welcome aboard Crappie.Com.

I have Hi-tek also and really like them, how ever you can loose a rod and reel if a fish hits and is close to the top of the water and runs straight away from the boat. If your not quick enough it can pull your rod straight out of the rod holder. This has happened to me and I lost a good set up rod and reel, but I still love the hi-tek set up. The fish was a big Gar fish and he stayed on top of the surface and ran away with my set up.
I had that very thought in mind when I placed the bases for my Hi-Tek rod holders up front ... so I placed the front left holder base where I could swivel the T-bar around and the trolling motor would clear it, raising or lowering.
My boat is a 1999 ProCraft 16Bass :
And as you can see by the picture, there's very little room in the bow ... so functional placement of the holders was a priority.
