    Default How Many?

how many one pole guys we got on here? I know Gene likes one pole'n, and i know Doc really likes it, but he does what ever he has to do to get em....I'm strictly a one pole man, either a 9-10 foot flipping rods, 6 1/2 - 7 foot casting rods & 5 1/2 to 6 foot shooting rods.....and i only use jigs or roadrunners....no minners on my boat...lol... i've messed with pushing & just dont care for it, work with pulling a little but it still dont turn me on....i know it probly hurts my success rate but Lord i do love it........aint nothing like feeling that bump...aint always bout the numbers anyway....

Years ago we started out with 16 poles out. (8 each) Picture this down at NW River and you get into a school of small Rock. What a mess. As time went by and we got older that got down to 4 each. Now that all my fishing buddies have died, and I can get out, I like to drag a couple and do some casting.

I keep 4 on the boat each rigged a bit differently. If the bite is slow, I'll put out two or three, but if I'm catching anything one does the trick

i usually keep 2 flippn poles rigged with jigs, 2 casting poles, a jig & a roadrunner, and 1 shooting pole, with a jig, layed out at the ready....sometimes it seems all i do is change jigs but then ya find that one on a given day...

I generally fish with only one rod for crappie and bluegill. I carry more than that, but mainly as a backup or, as previously noted, for different applications. I prefer to only use jigs for crappie as well. However, I have been known to carry minnows when I'm after YP. If the bite is good though, I resort to one pole and a jig.

I do the same as Kevin. Ultra light spinning rod, troll with a jig until I find the school, then cast to them. Bucket of minnows always tied to the dock for friends.

Gene has ruined me!!!!!! Nowadays I almost always just fish with one pole. Like most I carry several rigged differently but use only one. Seldom use minnows, make most of my own jigs.

I fish with only one pole every time I go fishing...for about 3 minutes. After that, the second line is in the water.

I for the most part only fish one pole. Unless I cant buy a bite I'll put a few long pol out. But I have grown to hate fishing multiple poles
