Default BURNT MILLS SKEETERS AND CRAPPIE

Don't mix well in my book...
I haven't posted in quite a while mostly due to trailer issues and not fishing...nevertheless....
Arrived at Burnt Mills Friday Sept 12th about 0730, unhooked the boat, proceeded to the roundabout to back in, That's when I noticed and un-natural amount of mosquitoes covering the back window , as I got closer to the water, I stopped and the boat was 3/4 covered.
I thought was crappie worth this.... before I was sure of the answer I was heading back around I and noticed strange camouflage on the ONE truck in the lot...as I got closer the camouflage was moving, I re-hooked the boat, and headed to Cohoon, which was much more hospitable, however only ended up with a few other than crappie, still was a nice day for fishing!
Sorry for not posting this earlier, hope no one lost a morning like I did because of this.

Looks like they could suck you dry. I sure do miss fishing the suffolk lakes. Glad you caught some fish.

I ask myself why just once couldn't I have an industrial size can of Raid when running into a situation like that?!!! I would have left too but not before fogging down that truck with said jumbo can of poison and watching those worthless blood sucking vermin die a horrible death. Watching a poison do its worst and seeing bugs lying flat on their backs with their legs twitching just brings a feeling of warmth and accomplishment to my heart. I hate insects. I hate them all. Bite and sting and eat stuff they don't own. That's all they do. I would love for nothing more than to spend the rest of my days flying a C-130 with a huge spray boom loaded to the hilt with pyrethroid (Raid) spraying the world in an world wide insect eradication program. You could rest assured when you saw me fly overhead at tree top level that you would go biteless forever from then on. Listen closely and you could hear the sounds of laughter from pure joy coming from the plane. I hate bugs.CF

I was out there Sunday and it was the same way first thing in the morning. As soon as we got in the boat and pulled away from shore they were all gone. Crazy how many are out there right now.

    Skeeters or "fuzzy bills".

Our tugs get covered in fuzzy bills in the fall. Annoying, but harmless. The sun comes up and they die where they stand.

    Default Skeeters

They have laid low the last couple of days thank goodness. Wife and I have been going out almost everyday. Found huge schools in 14 feet of water, same as before, trolling 1/8 oz jigs with Kalins 3 inch grubs. Last night I got on a ring perch bite, they were in 7-8 feet of water.
