Hello everyone.
Unfortunately unlike T Pain and Andy Samburg, I am not on a boat. I don't have one. Instead I am standing on the shore getting bitten by ticks and walking in weed beds to save my precious $4 lures.
I live in Northern Virginia, Arlington to be specific, and I was looking for somewhere to go about an hour and a half away and do some freshwater shore fishing. We have some lakes up here where I've caught some fish (Accotink, Burke Lake, Lake Fairfax) but those places seem overfished and are loud and crowded on weekends.
Does anyone have suggestions for places to go? I was thinking around Strasburg, VA but anywhere I can make a day trip out of it would suffice. I know the State Park's have fishing areas, but again looking for a more quiet place. I'm looking for somewhere that I can catch some fish that I can eat...and nearby camping is always a bonus.
Thanks for any help you can give!

Over the years, I've heard some interesting stories about fishing around the docks at the various marinas on Lake Anna.
I live in NOVA too. Best bet is Fountainhead, the crappie capital of NOVA.
