    Default Lcr 4-1-12

Not much to report. Wish I could say I loaded the boat but that would be an April Fool's joke. Ended the day with 5 crappie, 3 ring perch, 2 bass and 7 pickerel. Beautiful day to be out. What fish I did catch were in the very back of coves. All fish caught on jigs tipped with minnows from 3 to 6 feet deep. What little bite there was died after lunch. Biggest crappie was 13", another at 12-3/4", a 12 and 2 @ 10. 3 females, 2 almost spawned out and my smallest one still full. Big ring perch was 12-3/4". Wanted 6 fish to make a meal and that's just what I got. Next time maybe I should say I want enough for a neighborhood fish fry. Here is the required picture of my hat.

Dang IT! Now I may have to change plans!! I know its going to break loose soon, so I was going to LCR tomorrow..
I think the spawn is off on the fish also, last time I was there- one females roe was brite yellow and the other wasn't close to spawn..
(this one was about ready to burst)
