A du-rag could be the right look! (Maybe they're available in blue/white pinstripe?)

Yes, that sums me up perfectly! The one Pete caught was the first I had ever seen. I'm still looking forward to catching one!

Nice job. I'm in Greenville, SC on business and it's good to see some good ole Virginia crappie.

I have looked at the hat's like Pete has on, but it just doesn't look right on my head.
My ears have been peeling all year,,, and my dad has had large chucks removed from his ears to due to sun exposure.
    Guess hat is better.............
Tried a lot of hats but like this one the best. It's light weight and is made with UV protective material. Ear and neck coverage is great and other good feature is the anti glare black color fabric under the bill of the cap. Put on a good pair of sun glasses and a little sun screen on your cheeks ( facial ) and your head i protected pretty well. I also like the long sleeve shirt that I have on. This is beginning to sound like a promo for Columbia. The shirt is caller cool wear by Columbia. It's UV protective and lets air circulate to cool the skin. Works so good I have to wear a cover shirt in the morning. I have been given the warning by dermotologist so I try to cover up as good and as comfortable as possible.

I don't stay out on the water very long these days due to my physical limitations but use (most of the time) an ugly straw hat, UV protective breathable shirt, and lightweight long pants when I go fishing these days. It is hard for me to get out early so I go late when I go. The sun is not as intense then so I don't always wear a long sleeve shirt.

Nice report and pictures as always. For the summertime I don't think you can beat my new hat. I put the side flaps down when I'm out on the water to cover my ears and always use sunscreen.
