Thanks Pete. I messed up and posted my report on the main crappie board. Dang shame, as I was really proud of the thread title.

Corker,Hey Charlie,Dayton and Doodlum decided to give LCR a shot today after Corker slammed them yesterday. Dayton and I left early so we will not disclose any information until Corker and Charlie get back.
A few pics to ponder over in the mean time. Feel free to make up your own titles.
" SIZE REALLY DOES MATTER"

One of corker with doubles on keepers.
That guy can catch some fish.. threw back several crappie over 14! had 3 ring perch very close to citation size.. Bet we landed close to 200fish today!
How are you fishing????????? I mean are you trolling or just pulling up to a spot and sitting there?
Thanks
gene, I guess you would call it VERY slow trolling.
limit was set 11"-14", but I kept a few under being out of crappie for the table..Corker let go a few 14.5" and caught a ringer just 1/4" shy of citation.

Nice report and pictures (except for one). Looks like the fishing there is turning on since the fish have started to recover from the spawn. Thanks.

"fish on!!!"
(What a great day for fishing) lol.
Welcome to C.c, Spec2 and Gene!
My rig handled quite a few fish the last couple of days, but it may not be accurate to call it a spider rig. As Charlie indicated, I move very slowly when I'm working a spot--the GPS reports 0.3 to 0.5 mph. That's because I'm pushing/pulling corks, not vertical trolling. True spider-riggers (including PanMan and Tapout) use 1 oz to 2 oz weights on each line and no cork. I only use 0.25 oz to hold my baits at the desired level. If I move too fast, the baits are trailing behind the boat, not suspended beneath it. The spider-riggers can move much faster because the weights keep their lines very near vertical.
It's hard to guess how many fish we handled yesterday, but every time I looked back at Charlie he was baiting a line and one or two other corks were under water! Most places we visited held fish. Oddly, nobody molested our minnows as we moved to the backs of the coves. When we turned and started out, however, the bite kicked in!
Last season, I worried that I didn't catch many small fish--foreshadowing lean years ahead. If any doubt remained, yesterday proved that LCR has a robust crappie population. We probably caught 4 or 5 dinks and mediums for each keeper. Many of the mediums are pushing 10" & will certainly size up by this fall.
Fishing since '50!
