We started cold and ended wet, but WOW--what a way to celebrate a birthday!!! The first fish of the day was a 15+" crappie!!!!!!

The bite was very soft & fish were scattered, but by the end of the day, we had 9 or 10 keepers and threw back a number of fish that just barely missed our 10" size limit. The fish we spotted with the finder and/or caught were mostly suspended 10' to 12' over 18 to 24 FOW. That ringer was about ready to explode, but the specks are nowhere near that far along. We tossed and dragged a few jigs all day long, but I don't remember any of them taking a fish. They wanted minnows.

Doodlum also caught a limit of pike and a few greenies.

The lake is now at full pool, water temp ranged up to 47*, and visibility was 5' (well below this lake's typical clarity.)

Great report! I was ready to fish LC today, but high winds this morning has me thinking its not a good day to check out a new lake. i really need to pick up 2nd trolling motor before I go out on elec only lakes anyway! I guess a trip to wallyworld is a good trip today!
