    Default Pembroke creek 1/30

Ricky and I went out this morning at 9:30 and started catching right away. Never a hot bite but we stayed until 1:30 and caught 25 crappie with 15 being 12 to 13 inches. Could have stayed and caught 40 but it was a slow bite and I had enough to clean so we called it a day and went home. caught a pile of gar too. They were like hooking into a log and trying to pull it up. Crappie combine is in good working order and is ready for the Bash. May take a trip to IT before the bash. Time to get serious now.CF

I guess dingy would be the best word to describe what it looks like there right now. I went out close to the mouth and the water there was almost clear. The further You went back up the creek towards HWY 17, the more it looked like creamed coffee.CF

great job C/F. sounds like the fish in both rivers are on the same pattern. i was talking to a local yesterday and he was telling me about some canal he fishes and said he slays the big y/p. i should have asked him more ? . he did show me some of the fish he had cleaned and they looked up to 13" long. i did not want him to think i was a lurker. he told me that the fish are not there yet with all this cold weather we have had this year. Ed it is getting close. be ready!!!!!
