I'm thinking Burnt Mills
Beaverdam had some good years for numbers and size from 2005-2007. The last couple of years have not been as good for size and numbers. Probably due to poor spawn recruitment a few years earlier.
I believe 2011 will be a good year for Beaverdam. The smaller ones (7"-9") caught the last few years should be keeper size (10" for me) this year. We just have to leave enough larger fish in the water so they can continue to spawn and keep Beaverdam a good crappie lake to fish.

Never take the advice of someone who has not had your kind of trouble!
I'm thinking Burnt Mills also.
I had 6/1 (total caught/total 10"+) ratios at Diascund the past 2 years. Total # caught wasn't as good as B-D or LCR, but the ratio points to good crops in the next few years. B-D's ratio was also pretty good at 4/1.

I'll go out on a limb and say BI

Not tryiing too answer a question with a question but are you looking for size or numbers. I'll be another one to go out on a limb and say if your looking for citation size and a day where you might only catch a few or even only one big one ther are some sleeper lakes that you don't hear much about i.e. Smith, the other Little Creek, Prince, Lee Hall. There are people who fish those lakes and others, lurk here and laugh. Also don't go by citations posted on the state site. I know one person who catchs a bunch that size and never registers them and also releases most. Oh and it ain't me! jimb knows of some of the old guys I talking about I bet.
Me buddy just caught a 2# er at lake bethel, in Newport news. Yes there are some sleeper lakes out there, you will never hear tell of them on a public forum. Me thinks only 1 in 10 ever get registered, just look at the data from the NW bash last year and the fish registered on that day and the number that were citations. BM is still hot, lots of big fish caught last year, I hope most folks put most back, but still fish only live so long and most fish over 17 inches ain't got much time left. I person showed me 5- 1olb bass at BM last year and I could only think what in the world would you do with 5 big old bass. I would mount one, but what about the rest?
It will be interesting to see the citation list for BM for 2010, I hope corker post its link again.
So what makes a lake good? Lots of 10" fish or a few big ones.
Checking the VA board for 2010, I think you'll find that the largest fish reported here was caught at Fort Pickett Reservoir.
The winning lake will be wherever Doc fishes most--probably BI. Excluding pros, my bet is on LCR, but Lake Abel could take all the marbles, too.
