Default I'm going to let you all in on my secret.

Been sitting here in deep, deep thought for the last few days, thinking on how Ron and I are going to take our shot at winning the up coming bash. Once again being at the right spot at the right time is up for grabs by anyone who is fishing. Now for the presentation. I'm going to let you all know how I plan to attack the river. I'm going to begin by putting a 2oz sinker on the end of the line of 5 poles. Next will come 3 loops in the lines. First loop 1' above the sinker. 2nd loop 2 1/2' above the sinker and the 3rd loop about 5' above the sinker. Next will come a slip bobber with the knot tied off at 8' above the sinker. All three loops on each of the lines will have a 1' leader attached with a red hook or a color jig at its' end. This will give me 15 chances to catch a fish and Ron 15. Kind of even up the odds. Now the real secret will be the presentation. Plan is not to cast out away from the boat but fish almost stright down from an anchored boat. This will allow the bobber to stand the line up off the bottom vertically and presenting the baits into the water colum at three different levels. Sounds pretty good doesn't it.:D Now for baits. Plan minnow; minnow tipped with pork grind and jigs tip with minnows. That is my plan for now; might change in 2 1/2 weeks.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

i often use what i call a double bottom bouncer rig, with a one oz on bottom, a loop with a hook 12" off the bottom and another at about 22-26 in up. if the current is stong i will use a heavier weight and a three way swivel 18 in up, it elimanates line twist.... this is a very good technique for deep water bream in winter and summer... also the perch love it. white perch yellow perch and speckle perch too, if fishing gets tough i drag the bottom

I got an extra $10 says the winning fish won't be caught from an anchored boat. You know how much I like to gamble.

Does using spot lock on the iPilot count as being anchored?

Let me do a little thinking on this here matter. I checked and saw that Mr. Panman has won twice at the NW bash. Once the crappie division and once the perch division. Well no if', and or buts about it that was a moving boat. Now I think I remember Pete winning at least one of the earlier NW bash, so we'll give moving boats 3 wins. Mr. dustdew, how many NW do you have under your belt and where you moving or anchored. For poll purposes drifting is the same as anchored. Not under power. Let us hear from some of the other champions of a NW bash.

Alright, Alright Andy. You can't say drifting is the same as anchoring cuz it ain't. I gave you the coordinates of where to go and told you what to use. I only fished that bash once and came in second with 4 fish. Why didn't I win? Cuz I didn't stay in the area I told you. Now if you want to show all the amateurs up you will listen to the old man.

ALL right ALL ready Bill. I'm going to go to those cordinates, throw out my anchor and fish there the whole day. Hey Dayton would you mind coming by and checking to see if there are any fish around.

NONONO you don't anchor. You drift down the middle of the river.
