    Default Short James river trip

SeaNymph161 and I hit the river for a while today. Fish were holding tight and finicky. Tide was really weird today. I missed low tide and needed moving water to congregate the fish. Never happened. Tide came up, but current was minimal.

Caught a about a dozen on minners. Howard had a 13". And I lost the biggest crappie I've had hooked in quite a while. I pulled so hard I knew it was a catfish. Them that sucker came up and gave me a look, turned and left me. Hurt my feelings. He had photo potential for sure.

Howard has a couple of pics.

Explored a bit and found some spots for later work.

You never know what is just off to the side of you. Notice very little right under the boat. And such a nice underwater tree off to the side.

It's going to cost me some tackle, but I'm going to pull some fish out of this place.

I see proof that Howard caught crappie but any evidence of Dayton catching crappie is lacking. Therefore it's just another fish story to me. :D

Tap, you are right. I have no proof. And I don't trust me either!
