    Default Pembroke 11/05

Dad and I hit Pembroke today. Fished from 2:30pm to 5pm and caught 17 crappie, 1 yellow perch. We caught them all in an hour after we found them and then the bite dried up. BGBS were the bait of the day. They are a little deeper now than they were earlier and they were not on the brushpiles. Looks like they are getting ready for schooling up and spider rigging will be getting good soon here. Wish I could have fished all day. Would have limited no problem. CF

It's a good trip when you average one every 9 minutes.

Sounds like you were busy for that hour. What's the biggest crappie you have caught on a river down your way?

Yes it is a pretty body of water. There is a decent crappie population here too. The Yeopim is also a good place to catch crappie if You know where to look. That river kicks my butt but there are some guys that tear that place up. My biggest crappie I have ever caught came from Yeopim. That name is a mouthful and a subject of confusion for a lot of folks. The locals pronounce it like "yoahpeeum". Say that at normal talking speed and Ya got it.CF
