    Default A few months behind.

It's been a few months since I've been on here. Busy time of the year. I fished LOP during March and April and caught generous amounts of fish. I haven't been up there since summer is here. Has anyone fished LOP lately? Any luck?
You think I like to duck hunt? I love to crappie fish!

Don't get away from Toledo Bend, heck it's just too easy when you live on the water and have the boat hanging in slings. Just go get in, drop it down and go! I have a hard time really selling my self that I need go some place else.

I can understand that. I hope to be close to TB by next year. I would love to fish that lake everyday.

Well I started fishing TB when it first opened in the late 60's. Only took about a 13-14 years away as I moved near Corpus in 1980 for work. Before that I lived right at 90 miles South so other than hunt g season we came up every weekend night fishing for bass. Had the entire lake to our selves for probably about 5 years before the bass clubs figured out they could also night fish. Before that we would see a few crappie fishermen tied up to some tree with their lantern. Lived here in 1979 and did some guiding back then and when the wife and I moved back to Orange and later down to Ingleside for 11 years and became a bay fishermen. Boy that is some kind of beautiful place down there and great fishing for miles and miles. I did have a ball with especially the redfish, but lots ot trout and flounder too. However we always thought we would move back here when we retired, but we came back early sice I was force retired and the wife got a job here with less money and less stress so we have been living here since about 98/99. I do love this lake and it's s massive that you really only need a chunk of it, like I always fished other water for the most part before I moved here. Always put in at Housin and once I bought on 6 mile it was then time to Learn 6 mile and now hardly ever get out of here, LOL!
Best part that I don't use is Rayburn is only like 20-25 miles away for a boat launch.

Pines had been very good up until the last week or two and they seem to be scattered chasing baitfish. Going back in the morning, hope they are biting better.
