    Default Tennessee Bucket Fish

Perusing the many pages of this wonderful website one sees a plethora of BIG FISH pictures. The infamous Bucket Pictures of Super Sized Slabs from the South are incredible, and with some help from an Awesome Floridan and a Kind Texan I have can now contribute a Tennessee Bucket Picture. About a month ago Ketchn from Texas was kind enough to post a picture of a little 2in plastic bait that looks like a tadpole but has a subtle minnow like action. He was “rippin the lips” off of those Texas Crappie, and caught my attention it did. I ordered a couple packs and moved them to the front of the Spring Tackle Tryout line. Meanwhile a random number generator chose my Mr. Crappie Contest post and the awesome owner of this website graciously included in my prize pack a 1oz bottle of now famous and proven to me Slab Sauce! Thanks again and of course it was also moved up to the front of the line. So after the Early Spring deluges changed the frozen lakes into chocolate soup I finally found time to get out and try my new swag, even though the water was still dingy to muddy. Water temperature already around 60, I searched shallow and marked some fish in an 8ft ditch stacked around some wood lying on the bottom. First cast caught a nice male on my go to favorite Black/Chartreuse Tube jig.

30 minutes later with only a couple empty hook sets a light went off. Tadpoles! Why not? I could see them on the electronics but could not get them to cooperate. I broke out the Silver Flash Chartreuse 2in Tadpole and instantly picked up a couple more fish, some kept, some small, but the bites were obvious as my small floater would hop up on its side. The water was muddy and I was getting bit about 2ft deep over 8ft water. Epiphany number 2, try the Slab Sauce in the stained water, it could only help. Bang, floater sunk like a rock numerous times and finally the Bucket Fish.
