Nice!
With the reports that I had this week with the kids from CCS, Cuonthelake needed a fishing fix really bad. So, after my morning appointments, we hit the water near noon and fished for a couple of hours. We missed the good morning bite, but did manage to catch some fish in a different area than I had fished with the kids.
Lots and lots of people out on Friday. Does anyone work anymore on Friday? Candi wanted to fish docks some, so we did that mostly and found some keepers on docks and one other spot that I really liked but hadn't checked in quite come time. We caught a nice keeper or two there and she lost a hard pulling fish about 10 feet from the boat, but we didn't see it. She thought that it might be a catfish, but there was no slime on her line. Probably a bigger bass.
We tried floater fishing for a very short while and nothing happened for us with this technique today. So we hit another dock before calling it a day. The fishing machine put on a clinic at this particular dock, but all the fish were 8.5" long. We will have a great crappie season next year when these fish grow to about 11 inches or so.
We caught our fish with 1/32, 1/24, and 1/16 oz jig heads with various colors and shapes of Bobby Garland plastics. Slab Slayers were the best lure today, even better than the Baby Shads. We saw water temps up to 61.6 in one slough and I know that it is warmer back in the creek.
TVA continuing to run over 100,000 for the next 3 days even though our lake is back down to winter level. I saw where their predicted level in 2 more days will be the lowest that I have seen in a very long time. Lower than normal for most winters. Watts Bar running 96,000 CFS next 3 days too. Bummer if one wanted to fish tail races. I'm not that crazy to try water like that.
Candi wanted to fish docks ? < Grin > That had to help with her fishing fix and catching always helps. Don't you love short-sleeve weather in February ? That might be over for a little while. Thanks for the pics and report.

If I never fish any other way than docks I'd be totally happy! That thrill from shooting that jig back into the darkest spot on a dock, an then that Thump.... well that just back sums up my love for it....
looks like a great day.
