Default Fishing solo Chickamauga Reservoir 12/11/2017

I contacted one of my fishing buddies this morning about crappie fishing. He was already out with his boys so I opted to go alone. But, I waited until 11:00 for it to warm up. I fished for bass maybe 10 minutes and said phooey on this. I'm going to fish for crappie. So, I hit several different areas to see if I could locate any fish that wanted to play. I thought for a while that I was going to get skunked. Grin.

Another friend called me this AM and gave me a local fishing report, but it turned out to be bum scoop. Nothing in the area that he suggested. Sunny skies and wind out of the south about 6 mph kept it cool enough that I kept my coat on all afternoon. I quit fishing around 3:00 pm. I only caught 3 crappies but they were very nice ones and all came off two different bluff structures. 1/16 oz with chartreuse/purple plastic minnow fooled the fish that I caught. One was 13" and the other two were 12" and very fat and healthy. I kept them for the freezer.

I fished roadbeds, bluffs, brush, and blowdowns.

Good looking Crappie! How did you determine to use chartreuse/purple? Thanks

I would have rather been fishing than having Physical Therapy!
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6

It was a tip but I have been using this color combo for a little while, Bob. But let me encourage you to try BG Eclipse color. I saw a huge school of minnows around a dock the other day and they were the exact color in the water as the eclipse looks like.
