CrappieMasters just had their tournament there this weekend. There were 140 boats in it and the winning weight was 10.77 I believe for 7 fish. We caught ours in Kirbys Pocket in Buzzard Slough part of it. And in old pad sticks. Airpark also had good numbers with some size to them. Wind was a major factor, with gusts to 30.

Spider I can't make it, I have more work that I can do. I'm going to have to start working 2nd shift I guess.

Averse as far as warmer weather. its 29 degrees here this morning. but the wind must have blown its self out yesterday because its not bad this morning.

Iwish a lot braver than me...it was some bad wind yesterday. I rode around the lake and the waves were big. Capps must have lost his edge on his home lake. I think he has only won 1 tourny in the last 5 or 6 at the foot.

Capps and Coleman finished second. Had 10.52 I believe. Looked like alot of black crappie. We finished 24 with 8.09. Brother in law took 9th with 9.12. The 7 fish limit has got every drop of water counting at the scales. It was the largest ever turn out for a qualifier in CrappieMasters history. 140 boats is a bunch! We had a great time even with the wind all week. We caught 29 fish Saturday, and 90 or so in the four days before. All of the results will be posted sometime tomorrow on their site. Big fish was 2.52 if my memory serves me right, and I'm sure the winners had her.

IWID - If you caught 29 fish Sat. you deserve a 6' trophy. Were you dragging a net or trolling?Iwas at Kirby's pocket also but I guess I was using the wrong color minnows or something. We only caught 2 fish and at 12:00 noon we had enough. Not a very good wind fisherman at all. That is a good catch, were they caught in 4-6' of water?Just wondering. 29 fish is the most I heard anybody said they caught Sat. Congratulations.

We were trolling JIGS. Try to find some lily stubble in 3-4 foot. You have to troll into the stubble because if you drag anything through there you're done. About four or five passes with the motor cutting the stems and you'll need to move on and let everything settle. A major thing to remember about Reelfoot is there is cover everywhere, you have to find the cover you need in a wind break. Boat control is critical, poles bouncing around in waves are not going to help your catch. We also went up to Simons pocket and caught a few, again using the timber as a wind break. There were several who qualified from up there. It was a long day but worth it in the end.

Were you in a red aluminum boat? I am sure I saw you out there. We also were in Simon's Pocket from 10:00 til 11:30. Saw several boats but never saw a fish caught. I guess I just forgot how to catch a Tennessee Crappie.

Crappie slayer- The red boat was the team of Sanders and McMullin from Essex Mo. They finished in the top 20 as well. I think they had 8.54 or something real close to that. We were in my red Ranger 522, we were up there for a couple of hours. We caught some in the open water, then went over to the shallow water on the eastern side. There is a clump of grass out in the middle over there and we caught some black crappie, just no size to them. What boat were you in?
