Saturday had to be tough. I did hear that C/C and the first place boat both caught #'s in the 50's. Hard to believe 10.70lbs was all they could weigh out of that many fish.

Yeah it is, but 10.50 is a pound and a half average per fish. Not too bad for winds 20-30 and 45 degree water. We did find some 50 degree water, but man was it shallow. We heard that Ronnie had a sack full a few days before the event. Those guys amaze me.

Me and my 13 yr old son were in light gray Alumacraft w/75 yamaha. We never attempted the eastern side because of the westerly wind. I'm glad somebody caught fish.

No doubt about it, a good average. I was just saying that if they did catch 50+ fish on tourney day I would have thought they would have found a few more 2.0 fish.
Tough conditions made the tourney a crap shoot though. This was the year I should have entered.:D

Capps and Colemans big fish was 1.78. It was for sure a crap shoot. There was alot of good teams that got skunked. We had found our fish on Wednesday and apparently others had too. We were lucky to get the ones we got before the wind really went to NW and started blowing. If you go back and look at the past results it is usually a pound and a half average with a good "kicker" fish that takes it. When it was a ten fish limit 16.11 won. When it went to seven 11.44 got it last year, then 10.77 this year. I think some guys have the big eye when they guess their weights. I know I've been over more than once and hardly ever under!!

The big eye does come in some times. I have the digital scales which may not be perfect but they keep me from telling too many lies. The only lies I can tell now are about the ones that come off at the top of the water.:D
