    Default JPP report February 20

I took a friend out fishing last Monday since I had the day off. It was a nice day with very little wind, but it did take me a while to find the fish. We trolled shiners and crappie jigs tipped with minnows for most of the morning, and finally had a hit about 9:30 AM. We ended up with 2 nice hybrid bass and 3 crappie. Interestingly enough, the hybrids hit crappie jigs and ignored the shiners and the one swim bait I had out for them. And the smallest crappie we caught, a 10.5 inch white, hit the 4 inch swim bait. The crappie were all full of eggs, so I'm wondering if maybe they are already spawning. I'm looking forward to the next trip out, had to cut this one short due to a doctor appointment in the afternoon.
