    Default Fishing the Hill

I was wanting to know if they have moved back on brush or are they still roaming the creek channels?

I haven’t been to the Hill recently but from what I’ve seen elsewhere and from what I’ve heard I’d imagine you can find some on brush and some in open water now. Bigger fish are probably roaming the open water if I had to guess.

I fished last Saturday and there were lots of fish still on brush.

I went fishing today. I only caught 3. Caught one on brush and two under the small dock at Plumb Branch. There were plenty under the dock but they just weren’t biting. I enjoy casting to them. I really haven’t gotten the hang of long lining. Plus I have a hard time knowing the difference between crappie and bass schooling on side scan. Even though I didn’t do well there was a beautiful sunset. Name: IMG_3022.jpg

This thing we enjoy doing is sometimes humbling. Experience is your best friend on the water. Keep the faith and know that while you only caught 3, that’s probably 3 more than some other folks caught this weekend! Better times are coming and use todays lessons to make the next trip a little more successful. Before long, you’ll be one of the guys we’re all waiting on the next post from!!!

Yeah I’m learning everything through trial and error. Also been listening to a couple podcasts about crappie fishing. Didn’t know if there was anyone on the Hill who wouldn’t mind sharing some of their experience on how they fish. All my friends that fish are bass or stripper fishermen so they’re not any help. I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Keep in touch. The next time I have a spare seat I’ll take you for a ride along…. I’ve found the more you fish with others, the faster the learning curve shortens. I’m not a pro by any means but can usually find a few. Some day I hope to be as good as Tackleboat and Remus!
If you can afford a guide trip, reach out to Fisher-o-Men on here. He does some guide work and is a great guy!

Tom, are you healed up enough for a boat ride too? Maybe the 3 of us go longlining in pistol creek in a few weeks?

I appreciate it. Just give me a heads up. I own a business and have a 4 month old son so I stay pretty busy. I tried to look up Fish-o-Men on here but I couldn’t find him.
