Default Big Allison Boat Ramp Warning!!!

The water is low enough that I dropped off the end of the ramp. Got unhung without damage. I was able to power load with no problem. Its borderline launching There was a Pontoon trailer hung when I left. The fishing was fair today. The bite was good till the wind got bad. Caught 37 but had 20 keepers with just 24 caught. Best Ratio in a while. Nothing really pictures worthy. 12 1/2” was the biggest.

So, I read an article in one of my local outdoor magazines when I lived in my home state of Georgia years ago that had a tip for when the trailer goes beyond the ramp. This was a common occurrence on a river there because the water level would change daily. Anyway, you take the end of the winch strap and run it under part of the trailer frame and hook it to the boat eyelet. Then as you crank it tighter the boat is being pulled downward, but it’s buoyancy forces the trailer to be lifted. Then, you pull forward until the tires are back on the ramp and start the loading process again. Neat, huh?

Not me! Well maybe I can do my annual bath while I'm in there.

The pier is marked and the fellow in the pontoon did not know about it. I know the mark is for the end of ramp. I know my 22-foot trailer is not going in there.
