Yes, Keith did a great job imitating what he saw in the bellies of the crappie.

But if you look up the mayfly larva you will also see those beady eyes. Do a search on mayfly larva and you'll see what I'm talking about. Also when you cleans some crappie you will see brown matter in the stomachs of the crappie. Every now and again you will see a few that hasnt deteriorated into pieces yet.

I don’t keep many fish but I know I see the perch puking that brown up a lot in summer too.
