    Default Cane Creek Bridge

Went out on Cane Creek on Saturday and bite was deep and slow. Managed 7 crappie and one cat. Fish were marked for the most part 18-22 feet deep from no wake zone to the dam. Only caught some out near the dam like a winter pattern is setting in.

Went Sunday with some left over minnows for a little bit at the bridge at the feeder creek. Caught 10 crappie, 2 brim and a small bass in about an hour.

Had 2 people stop and say “they” will ticket you for fishing on the bridge. I parked where there wasn’t a sign saying no parking, although the other 3 corners of the bridge had them posted. I didn’t walk down and fish from the bank, where a no fishing sign was posted. The bridge itself didn’t have a no fishing from bridge sign. I have a valid pass for the park for both winter fishing and a yearly pass.

My question is, shouldn’t I be good to fish from this bridge?

Don't know about that bridge but I think fishing from any bridge is a dangerous thing to do, the way people drive you could wind up dead.
Glad you found some on Saturday. I need to get the boat in the water soon, I've been having soem problems with my back/leg that's kept me in the house

Believe it or not, when lake hartwell was filled the bridge at bradberrys on hwy 51 had lines of people on each side of the bridge. It was kaos, deputys were assigned, to manage one way traffic thru the bridges. This was true on lake lanier at wahoo bridge also. Did not need to bring lanterns then because the fisherman on bridge had plenty of light going down to the water. Fishermen in boats would play with people topside grab their lines and make bridge people think they had a whale hooked before the line broke.

Growing up around Hartwell many years ago it was a Friday and Saturday nite tradition to fish off many of the bridges.Store owners would take down many of the no fishing signs.

LOL I'm wondering about that back leg too

Fishing from any bridge in SC is illegal unless if is fixed to fish from (closed to traffic or added side walks for fisherman) With all the no fishing signs you can't pick a spot with no sign and fish. If the land has one sign that is all it takes to be posted. Be careful doing things like that, a fish isn't worth getting fined and like already said it is dangerous.

There are 2 fishing bridges on southern end of Wateree that do well Dutchman Creek and Colonels Creek. On both bridges u can only fish on the left side of bridge towards the main water. Dutchman has a catwalk like the Oregon Inlet bridge and on Colonels, u stand on bridge. I do better on the Colonels creek bridge. Caught me a many crappie, slimers, and dink perch. Have lost many a big striper and landed couple whopper shellcrackers.
Oh I could wrestle a monster fish

Yeah bridge fishing can be fun and it’s a good way to get a quick bit of fishing in.
