    Default Bad day of fishing

If anybody has ever had a worse day than this for fishing I feel sorry for them. Met Tim this morning at wateree at 6:15 to try to catch some crappie. Got ready to unload and could not get trolling motor to work. Tried everything we could think of to get it to work. Nothing we did would work. We decided to come back to my house and take the other boat and go fish some brush piles on Murray. We set out in it and got to the first pile and that trolling motor want work either. No matter what we did it would not deploy. So we said we would find the brush pile and anchor on it. Well guess what that electric anchor want work either. So we dropped the back manual anchor and it held for around 30 minutes and then the rope broke. We were catching a lot of small stripers and a few white perch. By this time the wind is really blowing. We went over to the dock and tied the anchor rope to the dock and drifted off about 25 ft. Of course the wind changed direction so I had to use the big motor to keep pulling us around. We wound up catching 14 nice crappie before calling it quits. Will post pictures later and Tim has a video. Both of these motors are ultrera's

Don, sounds like a trip from hell. Try taking the battery out of the remote. Mine has acted weird a time or two and removing the battery fixed it
    Hope that works for you

Yep tried that, didn't work, think battery went bad. Don was not exaggerating but somehow still managed quite a few good fish

Hate to hear that about the motors. I hope my new one don't do that. It may find a new home on the bottom of the lake.
Glad you managed few fish even with the bad luck. Maybe next time it will be better.
